Choose from more than 30 storytelling events across the weekend

The Festival of Stories is the first of its kind in the Murray River region. Part literary festival, part music festival, it's a celebration of storytelling in all its glorious forms.

Set on Yorta Yorta Country beside Dhungala, the Murray River, the Festival brings together nationally-recognised writers, musicians, performers, artists and regional voices across three days of storytelling, workshops, panel talks and cultural experiences.

The Program

The heart of the program is staged in and around the historic buildings, riverfront spaces and on the enduring red gum Wharf of the Port of Echuca. Signature events will also be held aboard the region’s iconic paddlesteamers and at intimate venues on both sides of the Murray.

With more than 30 events featuring across the weekend, there are rich and thought-provoking stories to be found around every corner.
Simply walk from one venue to the next, through historic streets and along dusty riverbanks that have their own beautiful stories to share.

A festival of and for stories.
A festival of and for storytellers.
A festival of and for River Country.
